Britain Exports Fashion Talent

It is a strange phenomenon, but British fashion designers are much appreciated abroad but often  fail to be recognized for their achievements at home.  The top creative positions in fashion, advertising, photography, magazines and design are held by British nationals all over the world, yet in Britain corporate industry tends to dismiss creativity as irrelevant rather than the inspiration that drives the sales.  Recently, the government  has tried to redress the imbalance but other European countries and America have much stronger government-supported fashion infrastructures and there is a considerable “brain drain” of British educated designers to the European and American fashion houses.
