In California it seems like you need a permit for just about everything you do. I remember trying to work on my own house and I needed a permit from the city to replace the windows. I wonder if I would need a permit from the city if I were to do the electric car conversion to be less reliant on gasoline. In my city where the police love to pull over anyone for being different would I be hounded if I did the conversion to my car. How would I register my car next year if I did the conversion? Would it cost less?
