Suprising pay per click news

Word just came out that Google has decided not to follow-through with its plan to provide display advertising within Yahoo search results. This is a pretty suprising development given the amount of time and publicity this deal has received over the last several months.
Government regulators, and online advertising competitors and users, were concerned about this deal from the get-go. It lent itself to the possibility of increased advertising costs and monopoly from Google, a thought that few cherish.
The impact of the deal on ppc management companies was unclear, as some specific details of the scope and specter of the deal were never released. I suppose this is just one less headache to worry about.
