Sonographic Study and the Ultrasound Technician

My name is Clarisse and I work on a nuclear submarine in the U.S. Navy. I am 23 years old and have been enlisted for the past two years. My actual location is secret.
The thing that I love best about my job(sonographer/ultrasound technician) is the occasional but overwhelming thrill that comes across my sonar monitor. Not everything out “there” is within the human range of sound. Sometimes there are “ultra” sounds and it’s just fascinating trying to learn what produces them, then trying to interact with whatever made the sound. I am always learning something new and though my friends consider me a kind of “geek” I take it in stride because that’s where a lot of the excitement of life is played out. I let them know this and I suspect that some of them envy me my place in this world.
