The Chimney Tops Of The Smokey Mountains National Park
August 15th, 2008 by admin
The Smokey Mountains national park is my local hiking area and is home to many wonderful hiking trails ranging from simple short strolls to some really quite arduous hikes. One of my favorites is the Chimney Tops which are two rock pinnacles which rise to about 1,300 feet above road level. This particular hiking trail, which is officially rated as strenuous, is about four miles long and the view from the top is simply stunning as you look out across the Smokey Mountains and have a clear view of Mount Mingus out to the southeast and Mount LeConte to the northeast. If you have not visited the Smokey Mountains National Park then now is a great time to dig out your favorite pair of Timberland hiking boots and head out to the park for the day. It will certainly be a day to remember.
