Why is everyone not slurping on reflex instant whey
November 29th, 2008 by admin
Research has shown that mixing glucose with protein (I.e. whey) will actually provide the same amount of insulin spike as a larger amount of glucose by itself. This means that you can actually get the same insulin response, but with fewer calories. This means that you won’t be as likely to put on fat (insulin is a storage hormone, so if you spike levels and have too many calories around, they are more likely to be stored as fat). The best time to take sugars and spike insulin is immediately after working out. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense to have the glucose and whey, such as Reflex Instant Whey, mixed together after training and mix in the creatine (5 – 10g) with it. In this way, you don’t have to worry about having loads of liquid, and you get your post-workout nutrition sorted to boot. Bonus!
