What are the side effects in teeth whitening?
February 6th, 2012 by admin
The main and important complaint from many users of Teeth Whitening products is increased sensitivity. After bleaching everybody feels it. When the teeth is exposed to bleaching agents for long time even they have chance to damage the teeth enamel. This causes increased sensitivity which can be felt when the teeth are exposed to hot or cold items. But this is not common in administered teeth whitening procedures. When you are using at home you have chances for this and that can be easily avoided too.
The gum irritation is the second common side effect in teeth whitening. The reason behind this is the Teeth Whitening Products uses oxidizing agents which can damage the soft cells on the gum and cause this irritation. Some people even experience burning or nausea like effects too. Bleaching time and bleaching agents are main factors behind these side effects. When you undergo professional teeth whitening in dentist’s office you don’t have these risks. They take care of each and everything by taking time on each and every issue in this.
Dentists do a complete study about your teeth and then decide about the quantity of the bleaching agents and time for which the teeth should be exposed to those bleaching agents. So these procedures have less risk of any side effects. But the teeth whitening products that can be used at home are designed for common use and not specific to individual. So they have more risks of these side effects. But the important thing here is those side effects are very minor to most of the people and fade off in few hours.
